PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Kindergarten
and Grade 1
We’re launching SKY Elementary with only Kindergarten and Grade 1 in our first year. Why? Because we recognize that the leap from preschool to elementary is a significant one.
That’s why our Kindergarten and Grade 1-only program is designed to make that transition as smooth and welcoming as possible. We focus on creating a warm and structured environment where kids feel safe and supported every day. Through play-based learning, morning routines, and social emotional support, we help children grow both academically and socially.
Our goal is to provide each child with a strong foundation, preparing them not only with the skills they need but also with confidence and a sense of belonging for the future.
OUR CURRICULUM
Strong Literacy & Numeracy Foundations
Emphasis on reading, writing, and math with evidence-based methods
to build confidence, fluency, and a love of learning.
Play-Based & Inquiry-Driven Learning
Hands-on, exploratory activities that foster creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking skills,
laying the foundation for lifelong learning.
Social-Emotional Learning
Hands-on, exploratory activities that foster creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking skills,
laying the foundation for lifelong learning.
Integrated Arts & Creativity
Music, movement, visual arts, and storytelling to support self-expression,
cognitive development, and motor skills.
Outdoor Learning & Nature Play
Regular outdoor time for exploring nature, strengthening gross motor skills,
and developing curiosity and respect for the environment.
Balanced Use of Technology
Thoughtful and moderate use of technology to enhance learning, balanced with hands-on,
play-based experiences.
Inclusive & Culturally Responsive Curriculum
Learning materials reflect diverse backgrounds and introduce different cultures and perspectives,
fostering empathy, curiosity, and appreciation for diversity.
SUPPORTING GROWTH,
CONNECTION, AND WELL-BEING
We believe strong school-family partnerships are essential.
Parents receive regular updates – whether through email or weekly newsletter – so they always know what’s happening in the classroom.
Our teachers closely monitor each child’s growth and development. If learning or behavioural adaptations are needed, we provide timely support and work in partnership with families to ensure every child thrives.
Early Intervention Support
Throughout the day, students engage in breathing exercises, movement breaks, and use calm-down spaces to help them manage emotions, reset, and stay focused on learning.
Mindfulness & Movement
* SKY Elementary School is currently undergoing the certification process with the Ministry of Education and Child Care. While it is not yet certified, the school is actively working toward meeting all requirements and anticipates receiving certification in time for a planned opening in September 2026. Please note that we will not be accepting registrations until the school receives certification.
